AC Maintenance & Tune-Ups
Air conditioner maintenance isn’t just a wise choice, it’s essential if you want your system to remain efficient and your cooling costs to remain low. We recommend that folks have their systems serviced once or twice per year to ensure that the components are well-maintained and damage free. With every tune-up, we’ll check the various components throughout your system, we’ll lubricate moving parts, and we’ll ensure that the pressure in your refrigerant line is balanced. We’ll also take a look at the evaporator coil to ensure that it’s not frozen over, and we’ll check your air filter to see if it requires replacing. In short, we’ll make sure that your AC unit doesn’t have to work overtime to cool your home. That means that you’ll enjoy cool air, produced efficiently, from a unit that will last as long as it’s designed to last.
Air conditioners break. We repair them. When your AC unit starts to act up or it cuts out on you entirely, you have a time-sensitive problem on your hands. After all, the triple-digit temperatures outside will try to make their way into your home. We understand that you demand repairs quickly, and we’ll do our utmost to get your AC unit back up and running so that you don’t have to spend an extra minute sweating it out. We repair all sorts of issues that can occur, including all of the following:
Electrical issues: Wires can cross. Contact points can break. Electrical systems can fail. When you have an electrical problem, it’s likely that your AC unit won’t work at all. We can pinpoint the electrical failure and fix the issue at hand.
Fan motor issues: Your AC unit relies on fans to cool off the exterior unit and to pump cooled air from the interior component of your AC throughout your home. If you should have a fan issue, we can replace or repair the fan and/or motor. Be wary of a fan that is noisy (which may mean that something is lodged in the fan, or that the fan requires lubrication), or fans that are inoperable or inconsistent.
Leaks and lack of refrigerant: Your AC unit relies on refrigerant in order to operate. This specialized fluid transforms between gas and liquid states as it travels along the coolant lines of your AC system. And, should your lines spring a leak, you’ll end up without enough refrigerant to do the job. We’ll check the refrigerant level of your lines, and we can repair any leaks that may exist throughout the system.
Thermostat problems: Your thermostat should accurately assess the temperature in your home, and it should trigger your AC unit to turn on at intervals according to your preferred comfort. If your thermostat is no longer reading the temperature properly, or if your thermostat can no longer communicate with your AC unit, then you’ll have a problem on your hands. We’ll locate the source of the problem, and we can replace or fix your thermostat to ensure that you have control over the comfort of your home once again.
Frozen evaporator coil: As we mentioned, the refrigerant of your AC system travels through a line to cool the air that is pumped through your home. Ultimately, refrigerant will make its way to the evaporator coil of your system, where it will sap heat from the air around the coil as the refrigerant evaporates. However, an overworked evaporator coil can freeze over, which will choke the system and may cause further problems to components throughout your unit. If you’ve noticed poor performance from your AC unit, or if your unit is constantly running, then you may have a frozen evaporator coil and you should have it remedied as soon as possible.
Compressor issues: Your AC unit’s compressor compresses the refrigerant back into a liquid after it has passed through the evaporator coil. Unfortunately, this complex component of the AC unit can fail, and it is costly to repair. We often recommend replacing the AC unit entirely if the compressor fails, since it may be more cost effective.
